November 2-9, 2018

This fall, Birds Eye is excited to be hosting Birds Eye Schoolhouse + Studios at Folly Beach. This will be our sixth time hosting at Folly and this time we have designed this week at the beach based on the wishlists of past participants. Feel free to join us for one or both depending on what your needs are for you and your business this fall.

Birds Eye Schoolhouse: November 2nd-5th

Birds Eye Schoolhouse 3-night retreat is designed for aspiring or existing women entrepreneurs who would like to create (or recreate) their business plan.  Jodi Rhoden will be the lead facilitator and will be utilizing Birds Eye’s resources and drawing from her own entrepreneurial experience as she guides participants through a comprehensive business planning process. She will also be incorporating the art of tarot into the experience. This retreat will culminate with low-pressure business plan presentations and a celebration on the final morning.

Friday evening– settle in and have evening session to connect with the group and have first business planning session utilizing Birds Eye curriculum.

Saturday-morning and afternoon sessions focused on financials. Topics will include: establishing a grand or regrand opening vision, start-up costs, overhead costs, variable costs, break-even points, cash flow projections.

Sunday-morning and afternoon sessions focused on marketing. Topics will include: mission and vision clarification, value proposition, specific markets, marketing methods.

Monday morning– business plan presentations and breakfast celebration.

Birds Eye Studios: November 5th-9th

Birds Eye Studios 4-night retreat is designed for existing women entrepreneurs who would like to bring their office or studio seaside for a few days.  While much of this retreat is self-guided in nature, Annie Milroy Price will be the lead facilitator and will be offering workshops to help participants explore the Birds Eye Adventures core themes of restoration, reflection, creativity, and connection.  (If you have attended a Birds Eye Folly Beach retreat in the past, this one will be similar in structure with the additional benefit of one more night to simply soak deeper in the maritime medicine or take an afternoon trip into nearby Charleston).

Monday afternoon
Restoration

Arrive at your leisure this afternoon and settle into our beautiful space.  Unhook from the day-to-day decision-making of your venture and begin connecting with others who will share in the offerings of this retreat with you. We will have one low-key afternoon session to establish initial connections in the group and begin creatively defining courses of action for our coming days. It will be followed by a welcome happy hour and dinner will be provided by Birds Eye.

Tuesday: Reflection

This day will be dedicated to reflecting on your business and your own roles and responsibilities within it. The day will begin with a morning session led by Annie Milroy Price as you create your own comprehensive assessment of your business and your own entrepreneurial journey. The afternoon will then be self-guided and is your opportunity to dig deeper into any of these topics using the support resources and curriculum offered by Birds Eye or work on your own project or idea.

(Each participant is responsible for their own main meals and beverages during this day.  Folly Beach has many wonderful restaurants nearby and participants are encouraged to group up and enjoy meals out or cook in the well-equipped spacious kitchen provided).

Wednesday: Creativity

This day is dedicated to creating for the benefit of your business. The morning workshop will set the stage for an afternoon of creativity. This will be an opportunity for participants to host mini-workshops on topics of shared interest. Once again, your afternoon will be all yours. Examples of ways this afternoon could be spent include: participating in photo shoots to create new images for your marketing materials, writing new content for your website or target audience, creating a timeline to reach your future goals, or giving yourself the freedom to just see what happens. (Art supplies and yoga props will be on hand for those who want to explore and play along the way).

This will be a full day to build connection between yourself and the project you are working on, or with the island by bike!  It is free day to do with what you like.  There will be the option of a field trip into the nearby Charleston area for those interested.

Friday morning

We conclude our retreat with a final breakfast together and closing circle to assess all that has transpired and set course for our returns home.
